Kmaren baru mulai baca buku lagi “Confession of a broken hearted” oleh Bill Crowder (mudah2an ga salah ingat judulnya), jadi kepikiran beberapa hal.

Pikiran manusia sangat2 kompleks dan bekerja dengan sangat cepat. Jika disalahkan maka pikiran manusia akan dengan sangat cepat mencari alasan supaya tidak disalahkan atau paling tidak dimaklumi kalau dia berbuat salah. Secara otomatis akan terpikir alasan-alasan yang masuk akal, bahkan jika itu tidak benar sekalipun.

Namun beda dengan orang Kristen. Orang Kristen karena sudah diajar bahwa berbohong itu dosa, maka kita pun mencari alasan lain yang tidak berbohong. Atau seperti yang saya katakan di atas, supaya dimaklumi kalau kita melakukan itu. Saya pun menyadari hal tersebut. Semakin pinter seseorang berpikir secara logis, semakin cepat juga dan semakin logis untuk mencari alasan.

Install the Microsoft Loopback adapter in Windows XP

To manually install the Microsoft Loopback adapter in Windows XP, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. If you are in Classic view, click Switch to Category View under Control Panel in the left pane.
  3. Double-click Add Hardware, and then click Next.
  4. Click Yes, I have already connected the hardware, and then click Next.
  5. At the bottom of the list, click Add a new hardware device, and then click Next.
  6. Click Install the hardware that I manually select from a list, and then click Next.
  7. Click Network adapters, and then click Next.
  8. In the Manufacturer box, click Microsoft.
  9. In the Network Adapter box, click Microsoft Loopback Adapter, and then click Next.
  10. Click Finish.

Make User’s Password have unlimited lifetime.

  • FAILED_LOGIN_ATTEMPTS: berapa kali salah memasukkan password sampai user tersebut di lock.
  • PASSWORD_LOCK_TIME: Berapa lama user tersebut akan di lock.
  • PASSWORD_LIFE_TIME: Berapa lama password akan expire dan user harus mengganti password.

How the procedure works?

  1. Get the last value of the sequence.
  2. Change the increment with – the last value of the sequence so the last value become 0.
  3. Change the increment with 1.
  4. Run the Nextval to set the sequence to 1.

Oracle Trace file (.trc) & Trace map (.trm) cleanup

To clean up old Oracle trace file (.trc) and trace map (.trm) files, use this command on UNIX based system:

find /oracle/diag/rdbms/ssekdb/ssekdb/trace/*.trc -mtime +14 -exec rm {} \;
find /oracle/diag/rdbms/ssekdb/ssekdb/trace/*.trm -mtime +14 -exec rm {} \;

The above command will delete trace files and trace map files which is older than 14 days.
